How badge collecting works
Every badge in the catalog corresponds to a place in the Adventure Passport™ app — a park, trail, byway, or event you can log when you get there. Buy any badge outright, or log the place first and buy the badge as a record of a trip you actually took. Most people do both. Pick the year you went and the badge is personalized with it — choose it yourself, or pull it from a check-in you already logged.
Do I have to visit to buy the badge?
No - we're not gatekeeping. Anyone can buy any badge. Logging the place & activities in the Adventure Passport™ app is optional and free.
Will the adhesive damage my paint?
No. The 3M adhesive is paint-safe and releases cleanly with heat and fishing line, the same as any factory emblem. Give a fresh repaint 30 days to cure first.
Will it fade or peel?
No. The artwork is engraved into anodized aluminum, not printed on it - there's no ink or paint to lose. Covered by the Lifetime Guarantee either way.
What's the difference between Standard and Custom mounting?
Standard arrives fully assembled with the 3M backing ready to mount. Custom ships the metal badge and black trim separately, for a frame, travel board, or another creative location.
Can I request a place that isn't listed?
Yes - users can nomination new badges in the Adventure Passport® and vote for other nominations. We only create badges for public locations or private private properties/events if we have a formal relationship with the organization.
